South Africa

Ruwach Christian Church was planted by Christian Centre in East London, South Africa in 2002 and has retained extremely strong links with the country ever since, with many members of Ruwach having had the opportunity to go out to East London and get involved with missions work there.

Here are some of the things that our teams have been involved in:

- Preaching in local churches.

- Performing drama/dance in local churches.

- Teaching dance and drama workshops to teenagers.

- Working with Light of Hope – visiting patients on two different townships (Duncan Village and Second Creek) who are HIV+, with many also suffering from TB and other illnesses. Offering medical support and praying with them.

- Delivering food packages and clothes to people on the townships.

- Helping at two local crèches for underprivileged/orphaned children – we helped take one group of children out on their first ever day trip to the local zoo.

- Working at Daily Bread – an orphanage near East London. We cleared an area of ground intended for a football pitch, did maintenance work, fixed computers etc.

- Joining in with youth ministry at Downtown and Christian Centre.
